Biscuit Donuts
These donuts are slightly easier because you don’t have to make your own dough. Instead, fry biscuit dough and add this great chocolate glaze.
Yields: Makes 12 Donuts.
Ingredients
- 2 canisters of biscuit dough Oil for frying
For the Glaze
- ½ cup of butter
- ¼ cup of whole milk
- 2 tablespoons of light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3 ½ ounces of dark chocolate
- 1 ½ cups of powdered sugar.
Method of Preparation
- Cut holes in each biscuit using a small biscuit cutter or small lid. Discard the holes or make donut holes out of them.
- Fry the donuts in oil that is about 350º F. Fry in batches for 2 or 3 minutes on each side.
- Remove the donuts to a plate or try covered with a layer of paper towels to drain the oil. Allow the donuts to cool.
- To make the glaze, heat a small pot over medium heat.
- Combine the butter and milk, and stir until melted.
- Add the vanilla, corn syrup, and chocolate. Stir until completely melted.
- Remove from heat, and add the powdered sugar ½ cup at a time.
- Dip the donuts into the glaze. Add sprinkles, if desired.
